Histoire

Un savoir-faire, des générations

BOUBY champagne has been a family story for four generations.

1919It started with François BOUBY, born in the South of France, near Rodez in the Aveyron region. As a professional soldier and powderman, he was sent in 1919 to the Chemin des Dames battle field for mine-clearing operations. He then met Rose, a 23-year-old Champenoise and they decided to establish themselves at Verneuil to cultivate their first vineyard.

1952 • Rose and François had a son in 1926, Pierre, and a grand-son, Bernard, in 1952. Unfortunately, Pierre died at the age of 27 in a banal road accident. His wife, Simone, took then the reins and developed the property until the 80s.

1992 • Bernard and his wife, Nadine, took over the family business and decided to sell their first bottle under the brand BOUBY-LEGOUGE in 1992. Rapidly, it was a success!

2012 • After ten years as Cellar-Master for a Champagne House, their son, Jérôme, joined the operations and created a new brand BOUBY & Fils. This project was accompanied by the building of a modern winery and a private room to host the customers.

These four generations of winegrowers are symbolized on our labels by four stars!
